Interest rates are structurally low and this represent a big challenge for investors, which can only partially be addressed with investment solutions focused on listed financial assets.
In the last years Italian regulatory framework has allowed and encouraged the development of a range of new investment solutions. These have different levels of liquidity and risk, but they share the same goal: bringing private savings closer to the real economy, i.e., PIRs (Piani individuali di risparmio, Individual saving plans) and ELTIFs (European long term investment funds).
In this context, ANIMA considered it strategic to start managing illiquid alternative products in order to meet the growing demand from its customers for investment solutions able to create a diversified portfolio with higher returns and lower volatility than those achievable with listed instruments. This is why Anima Alternative is born.
In January 2021 Anima Alternative started to operate its first product, the Anima Alternative 1 direct lending fund.
